Coffee Party 2014

The coffee party for the Monday Gypsies was held on April the 23rd in the Tyandaga Dining Room.  The party was hosted by the Executive.  There was tea, coffee an assortment of pastries (yummy), muffins, they were very good as well,  a fruit tray and long stemmed glasses with yogurt and fruit very nicely displayed.

I took a few pictures as there are quite a few new members this year and I thought it would be nice to see their faces along with their names, so they are all individual pictures (maybe a few exceptions).

Carol Wilvert the President, welcomed everyone and went over all the details of what would take place during the golfing season. To be eligible to win a prize at the end of the season you must turn in your score card for 10 games.   Answered questions and was able to recruit a new Event Convenor, Gail Livingstone a new member this year.  She went over the rules that should be used while you are on the links swinging at that little white ball trying to get the best score that you can!  Brad, the Club Pro came in and explained about the damage the greens had suffered over the winter.  He also explained about punch cards which are good for ten games or games during the week, but not to be used on weekends or holidays which are $200.00.  They are on sale for two weeks, after that the regular price of $30.25 would apply to weekly games.  Carts are $8.00 per person.

Cherie Jackson is the Treasurer - the closing luncheon is covered by the initial fee that was paid to Cherrie.

Sharon Ife the Statitician looks after all the scoring and the final numbers for prizes.  Make sure your name is spelled properly on the score card so that you always get credit for your game.

Anne Marie Rocheleau looks after Membership.

Below are the members that were at the coffee party in no special order - sorry if I missed anyone, and if I meet any members that were not present I will add your pictures at the bottom of this post if you can find me with my camera!  My name is Jackie Scott and you can find my picture on the top right hand side of the blog.

June Fun Day - MYSTERY

The Convenors Mary Barr, Linda Pritchard and Sharon Ife did a fine job arranging the table settings - they do look very pretty - don't they!

Another table showing the mask in with the flowers in the centerpiece -  The theme was MYSTERY!

Of course, you couldn't have a fun day without prizes!  All neatly packaged. Again, the mystery was - what was inside each one?

Sharon Ife was in charge of returning the balls to the golfers who were trying to lower there scores by putting the ball through one of these holes.  The side ones were worth 5 and the centre one 10 points off your score.

Here is Sharon Greenslade Putting to lower her score.

And Cherie Jackson if I remember correctly did lower her score by 15 points.  -  Good putting!

Cherie Jackson and Leola Spinazze

Ray Quinn and Essie Rourke

We had a very nice lunch - wraps and salad.  Followed by coffee and squares - We made short work of the plate of squares at our table.  A couple of the girls at our table won a gift bag which was chock full of different goodies.  The centerpieces went to the person that had a piece of tape on the bottom of their chair.
I was the lucky person at our table so I got to take that home with me.

2012 Monday Gypsies Closing Banquet

I must apologize, I don't think I had my camera on the right setting, it was rather dark in the hall so some of the pictures I took were too dark and blurry to add to the blog.  But I did add some of them even though they were blurry because I did not want anyone to feel left out!

The Committee for the banquet was Sandra Rowe and Carol Wilvert

The Theme for the banquet was:

The tables were set beautifully:

At the tables were:

Lana Hammond, Jeanette Wardrop, Joanne McArthur

Sorry, three beautiful gals and I did not get them in focus:  Wendy Oldershaw, Anne Marie Rochaleau,
and Sherry Wendling.

Again, not quite in focus:  Sharon Schnurr and Marg MacVinnie

                                                  Anne Sorochinsky and Carolyn Smail

                                                               Beth Almas and Lynn Douglas

                                                     Joanne Anderson and Fran McLean

Shirley Weppler, Cindy Watts and  Cherie Jackson

Pat Pascoe, Lynda Tendijowski, and Ray Quinn.

                                                        Dorothy Schan and Sharon Ife

Linda Pritchard and Shirley St. Pierre

Mary Barr, Carole Bruce and Marg Boardman

                                                                  Pat Richardson

Dinner is now over and if you had the correct object in your purse  you had to rush to the front to take part in the Lets make a deal game.  Three persons at a time, each asked separately if they would like to keep the small box that was given to them or if they would like the gift behind door 1 - 2 or 3!

There were many interesting prizes with a few zonks along the way, the chattering teeth and the plunger were the funniest,  but there were gift cards, bottles of wine and all kinds of other wonderful prizes!

Don't know what the prize was, but Kirsten Gibson thought it was very funny!  That's Sandra with her back to you with the hat on she was the Master of
Ceremonies.

Carol and her applause meter!  She also had to make sure the boxes were all filled with a prize after every draw!

Anne Sorochinsky all smiles with the prize she drew from behind one of the boxes!

Anyone who had not received a prize or anyone who had got zonked - received a prize at the end of the draws.

Marg MacVinnie with a nice bottle of wine and a line-up behind her waiting to make a deal!
